Is there a way to elevate to Administrator for a specific amount of time (say 10 minutes or so). The reason for this is doing something that requires Administrator credentials but doesn't have a "run as" option.
For instance, only the administrator has "write" permissions in certain folders -- including the start menu folder -- so instead of changing the permissions on the folders back and forth, you could just temporarily elevate to administrator, make your changes, and be done.

Elevate to Administrator for a Period of Time
No. And this mess that MS has created with folder permissions is going to be a nightmare from a support standpoint. Some you can read, some you can't, some you can write to, some you can't... who knows what else they have done. Even as an Administrator, you are limited in what you can access. I only hope MS documents these awful changes.
